Large Format Camera and Film How-To's

Wondering how to set up an 8X10 folding field camera? Curious about which way to arrange the tripod legs? Do you mount your lens with the cable release on the top or bottom? How do you best load (and unload) that large film in the dark emulsion side up without scratches? Watch the experts at the October meeting, Thursday, October 7, 2010. We will have demonstrations of large format field and studio camera set-up, tripod set-up with leveling, large film loading using expired film, and answer other technical questions.

Salt Print Process Demonstration

The salt print demo by Barry Schmetter at the September meeting was a great success. Everyone who printed produced a successful salt print. Many thanks to Barry for the set up, materials, hand out, history, and demonstration.

Whole Plate Project at Art Reactor

Whole Plate Project exhibition – August 6 to September 9

The show features work by Quinn Jacobson, Diane Maher, Chris Rini, Denise Ross, David White, Heather Wetzel, and Scott Davis. Works featured include cyanotypes, wet plate, silver gelatin and platinum/palladium prints. The opening reception will be Friday, August 6, from 7-9 PM, and a closing reception will also be held on August 27. The exhibit space will be open weekends, otherwise by appointment.

Cherry Blossom Night Shoot
